Students who want to learn announced today that they will postpone their decision to go on a hunger strike until Vidovdan (June 28th) and expect the government to resolve the situation at faculties by then.
“We have decided to remain in Pionirski Park, and we are now giving the state until Vidovdan, June 28th, to resolve things. If they don’t, we will indeed go on a hunger strike,” said student Miloš Pavlović at a press conference in Pionirski Park.
He emphasized that this is not a political performance but, as he stated, the last step in their fight against injustice.

As a reminder, Miloš Pavlović, a representative of the “Students 2.0” group and a student at the Faculty of Medicine, stated today that the group demands that classes at faculties be enabled by Sunday, June 1st, or they will otherwise go on a hunger strike.
“We are setting a final deadline – by Sunday, June 1st. This is the last deadline we are giving because we have exhausted all other possibilities and have nowhere else to turn,” he said. He stated that if their three demands are not met by June 1st, they will call on all colleagues to join them in a hunger strike.

The first condition, according to Pavlović, is that all faculties in Serbia begin work by Sunday. The second is the “urgent initiation of moral, disciplinary, and criminal-legal accountability against individuals who prevented our enjoyment of constitutionally guaranteed rights – from the right to education to the right to freedom of movement.”
“The third condition is that the fascist attacks on us and threats to remove us, eliminate us, exterminate us, and call us mentally ill for wanting to educate ourselves, finally stop,” Pavlović stated.
He added that they are in Pionirski Park “completely legally and legitimately,” and that they will remain in the park and “starve until someone finally pays attention to them.”
