The Serbian crew consisting of Goran Stevanović and Nikola Marjanović won a silver medal at the European Sailing Championship in the Beneteau First 18 SE class, which was held in Portorož. This is a historical success for Serbian sailing, and Stevanović and Marjanović, members of the JK Ada, reached the title of European vice-champions in fierce competition against 36 crews.
In variable conditions, with winds up to 10 knots, occasional rain, and waiting for wind, seven exciting and tactically demanding races were held.
Stevanović and Marjanović sailed extremely consistently and maintained a top position throughout the championship. They won one race, and with a series of constant results, they secured second place, right behind the Slovenian crew of Jure Jerkovič and Robert Zajc (ŠD Gibanca), who became European champions. The hosts, Mitja and Matic Margon (JK Pirat Portorož), took third place.
The second Serbian crew, consisting of Srđan Skala and Stevan Sedlak (JK Palić), achieved a notable result by taking 16th place.
