Nenad Dinulović, President of the City Election Commission (GIK) in Zaječar, announced today that the High Court in Zaječar has rejected an appeal by voter Predrag Stanković from Zaječar and denied an appeal by the “Promena u koju verujemo” (Change We Believe In) Coalition regarding the overall report on the results of the elections for councilors of the City Assembly of Zaječar.
Dinulović told Tanjug that these decisions have now created the conditions for holding the constitutive session of the City Assembly of Zaječar. The High Court in Zaječar had earlier also rejected 69 appeals and dismissed two appeals against the preliminary results of the local elections, both submitted by the “Promena u koju verujemo” Coalition.
Local elections in Zaječar were held on June 8. According to the overall report on the results of the elections for City Assembly councilors published by the City Election Commission of Zaječar, the list “Ne damo Srbiju – Aleksandar Vučić” (We Don’t Give Up Serbia – Aleksandar Vučić) won 47.13 percent of the votes, securing 27 mandates. The “Promena u koju verujemo – Uglješa Đuričković-Dragana Rašić” list received 34.23 percent of the votes, which translates to 19 mandates.
The “Ujedinjeni za spas Zaječara – Miladin Krstić – Mirko Jelenković” (United for the Salvation of Zaječar – Miladin Krstić – Mirko Jelenković) list garnered 7.58 percent of the votes, earning four mandates.
