GRENELL MET WITH MADURO: Agreed release of six Americans from Venezuela!

Six Americans, who were detained in Venezuela in recent months, were released after a meeting between the President of that country, Nicolás Maduro, and the Envoy for Special Missions of the US President, Richard Grenell.

The release of the six Americans was confirmed by the President of the USA and Grenell on social media, AP reported.

Grenell was in Venezuela to talk with Maduro about the return of deported migrants, but also about the release of American citizens.

His visit surprised many Venezuelans who had hoped that the president would continue his “policy of pressure” on Maduro, which he pursued during his first term. The meeting was held at the Miraflores Palace, and according to Venezuelan state television, the meeting was requested by the US government.

Grenell shared a photo of the freed Americans on social media, with the comment: “We’re flying home with these six American citizens. They just talked to the president and couldn’t stop thanking him.”

Although some Republicans criticized the meeting, believing it could legitimize Maduro’s rule, the president said in a statement that the visit did not lend legitimacy to the Maduro regime, but that the goal was to reach concrete agreements regarding migration and US citizens in detention.

Some of the arrested Americans, such as David Estrella, are allegedly linked to plans to destabilize Venezuela.

Although the names of all those freed were not immediately released, reports suggested Estrella was among them.

The president ordered Grenell to organize the return of Venezuelan citizens to the US, including members of the criminal organization “Tren de Aragua”, as well as to ensure the return of all American citizens from Venezuela.
