The trial of David Knežević, the husband of missing Ana Knežević, a Colombian-American woman who disappeared in Spain in February of this year, will resume in January 2025, although it was originally scheduled for October.
Authorities have still not found the woman’s body, and the only new lead is a signal from the mobile phone that David Knežević used in the days leading up to her disappearance.
One of those signals suggested that Knežević might have disposed of the remains in Italy.
A spokesperson for the family of the missing woman in Spain, Joaquín Amils, president of the SOS Desaparecidos association, explained that these investigations in Italy are based on tracking the husband’s mobile phone signal, which shows that he deviated from his route outside the United States to the area of northern Italy, according to Telesinco.
This section of the Italian route took almost 27 hours to complete, while it would normally take about eight hours. This time difference is what keeps investigators still considering that Ana’s body is hidden somewhere in northern Italy.

Spanish Investigators in Serbia Spanish investigators and FBI agents who traveled to Serbia to try to find new clues about the whereabouts of Ana Knežević’s body, whose kidnapping is suspected of her husband, Belgrade resident David Knežević, have questioned seven witnesses.
According to unofficial information from a source close to the investigation, the FBI has announced that it will send another request to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade for further actions in our country related to the disappearance of Ana Knežević.
Arrested Husband As a reminder, David Knežević was arrested by FBI agents upon his return from Serbia and has been in custody ever since without the right to bail. David was arrested for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and disappearance of his wife.
Ana Knežević disappeared in Madrid in early February, and at that time she was separated from her husband and they went through a very contentious divorce after 13 years of marriage. The couple ran a computer support company in Florida. Spanish authorities released footage earlier this year showing David Knežević allegedly buying duct tape and spray paint at a hardware store in Madrid.
Just a few hours later, he was seen spraying the surveillance camera in his estranged wife’s apartment, police said. FBI agents and the Spanish National Police are investigating, and it is alleged that law enforcement agencies in Serbia and Colombia, where Ana Knežević Henao is from, are also involved. David Knežević’s lawyers have presented evidence that claims there is no blood in Ana’s apartment, which proves that there was no struggle between the couple before Knežević’s disappearance. Therefore, he should be released on bail.
