Local elections are being held in Zaječar and Kosjerić, and CRTA stated in a press release that “two cases were observed in which members of the polling committee gave already filled ballots to voters,” and that “the police were informed that several observers in Kosjerić received threats and provocations through phone calls.”
“At the opening of several polling stations, not all members of the polling committee were present, and polling stations were not fully organized in accordance with procedures. At one polling station in Zaječar, two cases were observed in which members of the polling committee gave already filled ballots to voters,” the CRTA statement reads.
It adds that at two polling stations in Zaječar, “observers are experiencing pressure from the presidents of the polling committees.”
“At one of them, also from an observer from one of the new observation missions, who, as we note, have close communication with the presidents and members of the polling committees,” it adds.
“We reported to the police that several of our observers in Kosjerić received threats and provocations through phone calls. Our observers report that groups of unidentified individuals have been seen in front of a larger number of polling stations in both Zaječar and Kosjerić, but without any indications of causing disorder,” the CRTA statement says.
It also adds that “no significant number of incidents has been recorded until 8:30 AM.”
