Inspectors and the so-called Kosovo police entered the branch of the Tax Administration of the Serbian Government’s Ministry of Finance in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica this morning and began a search, forcing employees to leave the premises.
“Around nine o’clock we entered this building which, according to our information, functions as a tax administration (as a branch of the Serbian Ministry of Finance). At this location, we found evidence that confirmed our suspicions and after consulting with the prosecutor, the people who were there left the place and the building was closed until a full investigation of the facts,” confirmed Veton Eljšani, deputy commander of the so-called Kosovo police in the northern region.
He added that a case has been opened and an investigation has been launched on suspicion of “document forgery”.
There have been no arrests, Eljšani added.
In the previous days, before the Christmas holidays, the police in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica raided the premises of two local institutions and closed them.
