U.S. President Donald Trump told CNN that the United States supports Israel and described the attacks on Iran last night as a “very successful attack.”
“Of course we support Israel, obviously, and we’ve supported them like nobody else,” Trump said in a brief phone interview with CNN.
“Iran should have listened to me when I told them – I don’t know if you know, but I gave them a 60-day warning, and today is the 61st day,” he added.
“Now they should sit down at the negotiating table and reach a deal before it’s too late. It will be too late for them. You know, the people I negotiated with are dead, those hardliners,” the president said. He did not specify which people he was referring to.
When asked if those people died as a result of the Israeli attack last night, Trump sarcastically replied: “They didn’t die of the flu; they didn’t die of COVID.”
