The new constitution will protect the Dayton framework and the competences of the Republic of Srpska, said today the advisor to the President of the Republic Milorad Dodik, Marko Romić.
Romić, who is a member of the Working Group for drafting the new constitution of the Republic of Srpska, pointed out that the National Assembly is the only one that has the right to adopt a new constitution, which is changed and adopted according to the procedure.
Romić reminds that the High Representatives in BiH changed the Constitution of Srpska in an unconstitutional way, and that they had no right to do so.

“The Bonn Declaration does not give any rights to anyone to change the Constitution, and nowhere is it mentioned that the High Representative can change the Constitution,” Romić told RTRS.
He emphasizes that the new constitution will preserve the autonomy of the Republic of Srpska according to the Dayton Agreement and is adopted as a product of the highest social consensus.
“We will also have a professional discussion at the Academy of Sciences. We want everyone to get involved, because it concerns all of us,” said Romić.
