New York City FC footballer and former Red Star Belgrade player, Jovan Mijatović (19), hit a woman with a car in Belgrade on Saturday evening.
Mijatović struck a woman, aged between 45 and 50, with his car while she was crossing the street outside a designated pedestrian crossing.
The woman was urgently transported to the Emergency Center with severe injuries and is in critical condition. Meanwhile, Mijatović stayed at the scene and waited for the police and paramedics, according to “Sportal.”

Mijatović began his career at Grafičar, Red Star Belgrade’s affiliate club, and later played for Red Star until the second half of last season.
He then transferred to New York City FC. The young striker has made 12 appearances for the American club but has yet to score a goal. He moved to the MLS league from Red Star for a fee of eight million euros.
In September last year, Mijatović made his debut for Serbia’s U21 national team.
