Documents related to Jeffrey Epstein contain over 400 mentions of Croatia, with particular attention on Boris Nikolić, a Croatian-born doctor and investor, former chief science and technology advisor to Bill Gates.
In three emails sent in January 2014, Nikolić mentions Croatian modeling agencies and models, specifically the agencies Talija Model and Midiken Model Management, as well as then-model and TV host Mia Kovačić.
In an email dated January 20, 2014, at 18:33, titled “a friend of my brother,” Nikolić attached a link to a Jutarnji list article regarding Mia Kovačić’s legal dispute with manager Magdalena Olujić. He wrote: “Her name is Mia Kovačić – model in Zagreb.”
A few minutes later, at 18:52, he sent another email titled “agency,” stating:
“Everyone looks very Croatian. Jean-Lik is now opening an agency in Croatia.”
It is believed this refers to Jean-Lik Brunel, a French modeling agent and Epstein associate who was later arrested and charged with human trafficking and sexual abuse of minors, and who committed suicide in prison in 2022.
On January 21, 2014, Nikolić sent another email with links to Talija Model and Midiken, adding:
“I just realized I never sent this to you. These are agencies of people I know in Zagreb. Let me know if you see any talent.”

Scientist Writes to Epstein About Women in Zagreb
In May 2016, a scientist (name redacted) sent Epstein speech proposals for a lecture in Zagreb:
“In the first few minutes, I will analyze feminists, intrigue the audience with transsexuality and homosexuality, and end with honor killings.”
The same email added: “By the way, women in Zagreb are fantastically beautiful, maybe slightly fairer-skinned than I am used to, but I will gladly adapt.”
In October of that year, Robert Trivers delivered a lecture in Zagreb titled “Evening on Evolutionary Biology – Feminism, Transgender, Homosexuality, and Honor Killings,” in front of an audience of 600 people. Later, he wrote to Epstein: “The reactions were warm, applause was long, media coverage excellent. They displayed my photo in the hotel’s ‘hall of fame.’”
Dr. Pavelić with Epstein in Tuscany
In May 2018, Maša Drokova, a liaison for media and scientific contacts, invited Epstein to a private gathering at Castello di Segalari in Tuscany. On the guest list was Dr. Krešimir Pavelić with his wife Sandra. Drokova wrote:
“Krešimir and his wife Sandra are outstanding biologists in stem cells and longevity from Croatia.”
Pavelić told the media that he never met Epstein and was invited after a visit by Ben Gercel and David Lake to the University of Rijeka. He claims he traveled at his own expense and that the event was presented as a scientific meeting for collaboration in tumor therapy and life extension.
Vacation and Plans to Buy a Ship in Croatia
In one email, Boris Nikolić suggested to Epstein a vacation in Croatia:
“The best way to tour the coast is by boat. Also, we need to start planning visits to modeling agencies.”
In November 2014, he wrote:
“Almost everyone I know in Croatia has an account in Switzerland… Unfortunately, many went bankrupt due to loans in francs.”
Epstein, known for his short and cryptic emails, asked:
“Can you ask a friend why I am sending money to a Swiss company I don’t know? Strange?”
According to Večernji list, in 2014 Epstein negotiated the purchase of the military ship OLIMP M-46, developed in Croatia. The vessel was nicknamed “Sea Lightning,” and Epstein expressed interest via email:
“Doran fast rib, 40 feet.”
Nikolić linked him with Zoran Kovač from Zagreb. The ship was priced at €485,000 but offered for less than half. It was noted that the Greek military was also interested.
“The ship is not intended for civilian use, but since it’s going to the U.S., they agreed to the sale.”
Boris Nikolić – Secondary Figure or Key Link?
Nikolić is mentioned as a backup executor of Epstein’s will, which he described as “shocking” for him. Court documents confirm he declined the role.
Although he claims no business ties to Epstein, Bloomberg revealed both were clients of J.P. Morgan, where Epstein brought wealthy clients. Nikolić’s fund, Bajomatics Capital, was among the first investors in companies financed by Epstein himself, including those connected to geneticist George Church.
