The Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago issued a statement regarding recent posts that the flag of the so-called Kosovo is located on their premises, and we present their announcement in full!
On the portal “Slavija info” website on December 7, 2025, an article was published with the headline “Did Vučić officially recognize the so-called Kosovo in Chicago? Shock, anger, and disbelief among Serbs!”, with the subheading “The flag of the so-called Kosovo is flying on the Serbian consulate in Chicago alongside our flag”!
We strongly deny the truth of this story and demand that the portal remove the text and publish a denial. The photos published in the text were generated using artificial intelligence (AI), which is more than obviously indicated by the sign in the lower right corner, and which was also confirmed after checking using a program for determining AI-generated content.

The stated content represents a brutal lie and manipulation by irresponsible individuals who want to further divide the Serbian people and undermine the institution of their home country with untruths and edited photos.
We most kindly inform you that the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago continuously implements measures and actions to protect the property and premises of the diplomatic and consular mission, that photography on the premises of the Consulate General is prohibited, and that such actions cannot remain unregistered and represent gross disrespect for the rules by irresponsible individuals.
At the same time, we inform the public that the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago is the home of all Serbs and people of good will, where everyone is welcome.
