The Republic of Srpska Day is being marked with a series of events. It begins with a liturgy in the Church of Christ the Savior, with Serbian Patriarch Porfirije serving the Holy Liturgy.

A large number of believers and officials are expected. At 2 pm, a session of the Senate is scheduled, and the central event will be on Trg Krajine at 5 pm, where a parade with over 3,000 participants, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the civil sector is expected.

Republic of Srpska Day, January 9th, has been celebrated since 2007 to commemorate the formation of the Serbian Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The celebration began yesterday with the laying of wreaths for those who gave their lives for Srpska, followed by a solemn academy and a reception for the government of the Republic of Srpska, where officials reviewed 33 years of existence and the very creation of the Republic.

Since its inception, the Republic of Srpska, as they said, has been exposed to numerous pressures, but despite this, it has persevered.

Patriarch Porfirije: Our name is Orthodox Christians and the Orthodox Church

Serbian Patriarch Porfirije said today in the Cathedral Church of Christ the Savior in Banja Luka that it is necessary to forgive each other, to support each other, to be one if possible.
After the Holy Liturgy, the Patriarch said that our name is Orthodox Christian and the Orthodox Church.

“What is God’s, let us people also open our hearts, our souls to show that we are God’s work. There are many who have recognized God’s love. We, the Orthodox Serbian people, have known for centuries who we are and what we are, that we are marked by Christ’s love. Without him, it is a big question whether we would even exist,” emphasized Patriarch Porfirije.
