The Serbian team achieved exceptional success again this year at the Iranian Geometry Olympiad and won eight medals. The competitors in the advanced category particularly stood out, confirming the high level of knowledge and the continuity of top results of our students in international mathematics competitions.
In the elementary category, the bronze medal went to Ahu Jusufoski, while in the intermediate category, Nenad Marković won silver, and Vanja Miladinović and Đorđe Šekarić won bronze. Stefan Šebez was the best in the advanced category with a gold medal, Jegor Gramatčikov took the vice-champion position, and the bronze distinction went to Petar Banović and Nina Šušić. The leader of the Serbian team was Dr. Miljan Knežević, an assistant professor at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Belgrade.
The Iranian Geometry Olympiad (IGO) is a prestigious international geometry competition where students from all over the world test their knowledge in solving demanding geometric problems. The competition was held again this year in October 2025, and Serbia participated in it for the fourth time. Thousands of students from numerous countries participated in this year’s contest, and the competition was implemented by students working on tasks in their own countries under the supervision of national leaders, while the best works in each category were sent to the organizers in Iran. The competition in Serbia was held at the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade. Participants were divided into three categories: elementary (7th and 8th grade), intermediate (1st and 2nd grade of high school), and advanced (3rd and 4th grade of high school).
