Joe Rogan recently hosted Rod Blagojević, the former U.S. congressman and the most famous and controversial Serbian born in America, on his podcast.

During a nearly three-hour conversation, the popular podcast host and Blagojević touched on numerous topics, including NATO’s bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999.

“My father came from Serbia, and I would love to try to do everything I can to raise awareness about the place of Serbia, which is located on the Balkans…,” began Rod Blagojević, before adding:

“That is the country we bombed in 1999. The United States and NATO bombed Serbia without the approval of the United Nations, in the same way Russia attacked Ukraine… They tried to force the Serbian government to give up part of its country, Kosovo. To hand it over. It would be like NATO threatening to bomb us so we would give Texas to Mexico. And the Serbian government said they wouldn’t do that, so the United States decided to bomb them if they didn’t sign an agreement reached in France, called the Rambouillet Agreement…”

Blagojević then addressed the current relationship between Serbia and the U.S., highlighting how many Serbs actually supported newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Today, Serbs want to improve relations with America after we bombed them. And this government that is there today really wants to restore relations with the United States and have better relations. It’s a growing economy, they’re doing very well economically because they are good, hardworking people, and it’s interesting that in a recent survey of European countries, in these presidential elections, Trump vs. Kamala Harris, the Serbian people showed the greatest support for Trump, something like 59% of the Serbian population supported Trump in the last elections, more than any other European country. I’ll do whatever I can to help my place, the place where my father came from…,” Blagojević said.
