Students in blockade shared a video on social media announcing a protest in Belgrade to take place on June 28, Vidovdan.

They have not announced the exact location and time of the protest, but these details are expected to be released soon.

In a short but symbolic post, the students state:

“Crowds in the city? There will be more crowds! #SeeYouOnVidovdan” along with a video showing previous gatherings and traffic blockades.

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, stated that the Kosovo authorities detained three members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia and one retired policeman at administrative crossings.

The statement reads that last night at Brnjak, MUP member N. V. (26) and retired policeman M. S. (53) were detained, while today at Jarinje, MUP member M. M. (28) was detained, and policeman A. M. (36) was held at the Končulj crossing.

Petković accused Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti of ordering the arrests and assessed it as a form of politically motivated retaliation against the Serbian people.

“All of them and their families have been living peacefully in Kosovo and Metohija for years and perform their duties in police departments on the territory of central Serbia. They are currently in detention, and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija will provide free legal aid to all of them, and will inform all international representatives, as well as the dialogue mediator Peter Sorensen, through diplomatic channels about their unlawful deprivation of liberty,” stated Petković.

Former member of the Kosovo Police special unit Arbnor Spahiju was arrested on June 7 at the Serbian-Hungarian border and remanded in one-month custody on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of aggravated murder, Radio Free Europe was told by the High Court in Subotica.

The charges against Spahiju relate to an incident in Banjska, in northern Kosovo, in September 2023.

In the statement, Petković also reacted to yesterday’s indictment against Serbian List Presidency member Slavko Simić and criticized this move by the Kosovo prosecution.

“Slavko Simić, like all honest Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, is an obstacle to the authorities in Priština because the interests of the Serbian people are above all for him and he has never, nor will he ever, agree to the blackmail of Kurti and his henchmen, and an attack on him is an attack on every Serb who has Serbian identity in his heart,” Petković claims.

An indictment was filed against Simić and another person with the initials U. V. yesterday for participating in a group that committed a criminal offense and hooliganism, the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Kosovska Mitrovica announced.
