Bajaga i Instruktori celebrated their 40th anniversary with their loyal fans in Chicago, with a concert organized by Backstage 54 at the Ramova Theatre.

For many, this was a chance to reminisce about their youth spent in the Balkans, first loves, and first kisses. The audience included their children and even grandchildren, some of whom didn’t speak Serbian very well but knew all of Bajaga’s songs by heart…

Hits were performed one after another, the full hall sang along to every song, and a few tears were shed. At the end, to the delight of the audience, an encore followed, as no one wanted to go home.

This concert, like the concerts of other Serbian artists, was a unique opportunity for people from the diaspora to forget their worries and obligations for a few hours, business problems, green cards, and to drift in their thoughts to other times and places, where their heart pulls them and their soul is nourished.

Watch an exclusive report from the Chicago concert and an interview with Momčilo Bajagić conducted by our editor Antonije Kovačević.

Bajaga i Instruktori continue their North American tour celebrating 40 years of work with concerts in New York on October 26 (today), Boston on October 27, Cleveland on November 1, Toronto on November 2, Phoenix on November 3, Los Angeles on November 8, and Calgary on November 9.
