Students from Novi Sad, who are in Sarajevo as part of an exchange program, were attacked last night on Kulovića Street, in front of the Youth Theater in the city.
According to official information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, one minor has been arrested for violent behavior, while authorities are actively searching for the other perpetrators.
The Crna Hronika news portal reported, citing unofficial sources, that at least two people, a young man and a young woman, sustained injuries.
A witness told Crna Hronika that the teenagers from Novi Sad were attacked without any provocation.
“They attacked them for no reason as they were leaving the theater. The attackers wore ski masks and had metal bats. They started hitting them with the bats. The police and emergency services arrived quickly at the scene, and the injured were taken to KCUS (Sarajevo University Clinical Center),” the witness stated.
The Istraga.ba portal reported that the students sustained minor injuries. According to their information, the victims included three young men and one young woman.

Serbian Rights Committee Reacts
Đorđe Radanović, President of the Committee for the Protection of Serbian Rights in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), stated that high school students from Novi Sad were attacked with baseball bats in Sarajevo, including one young woman among them.
“The incident occurred when three young men and one young woman from Novi Sad, who were in Sarajevo for a student exchange program, were attacked last night in the very center of the city. It is evident that the attack was motivated by national and religious hatred. Today’s Bosniak children in Sarajevo, taught by their elders, are growing up to hate Orthodox Serbs,” Radanović emphasized.
He further stated that the Committee has little hope that the perpetrators will receive adequate punishment, citing previous instances of frequent attacks on Serbs in Sarajevo.
