By order of the prosecutor, he has been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the Basic Public Prosecutor in Novi Sad with a criminal complaint.
What exactly happened?
Earlier today, in front of the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, during the protests, an elderly man with a knife attempted to attack a student volunteer wearing a yellow vest who was standing calmly with his arms down.
Several students, also volunteers, approached and disarmed the man as he charged at the student.
This incident is just one in a series of attacks on students participating in protests. One of the most serious incidents occurred yesterday when a driver was arrested for an attempted murder of a female student involved in a blockade on Roosevelt Street.
