As the Nova.rs portal has learned, during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, the car of a prosecutor from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Subotica—who had questioned suspects in the attack on Subotica activist Dražen Lončar (47)—was set on fire.
No additional details about the burning of the vehicle are known.
Subotican Dražen Lončar was beaten on November 28 in front of the entrance to his building and transported to the hospital with severe bodily injuries.
A video appeared on social media showing a group of masked men striking Dražen Lončar, who is lying on the ground, with metal bars.
The attack occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday, November 28. According to the victim’s brother, the attackers waited for him in front of the building entrance.
“He has severe bodily injuries. His arm is broken, his ribs are fractured, and he has head injuries,” Dražen’s brother Nemanja told N1.
Subotica police arrested several individuals suspected of attacking Dražen Lončar. P. B. (21), A. G. (19), L. B. (18), and M. M. (24) were arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of causing severe bodily harm. They are suspected of attacking, together with I. V. K. (18) and a juvenile (17), who were also arrested, a 47-year-old man with clubs on November 28, inflicting severe bodily injuries, the Subotica Police Administration said.
Drugs also found with the attackers
During a search of the apartment and other premises used by P. B. and L. B., police found about one kilogram of marijuana, two scales, and around 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Criminal charges will be filed against them on suspicion of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotics, as well as illegal production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials.
