We hoped, but no luck for Belgrade. Athens will be the host of this season’s Euroleague Final Four.
After numerous twists and turns in the previous months, it has been confirmed that Athens will host the Euroleague Final Four in 2026.
The final tournament of Europe’s elite club competition will be held at the “Athens Telecom Center,” the former OAKA arena, home of Panathinaikos.
Belgrade was also a serious candidate, but unfortunately, the capital of Serbia did not get the opportunity to host the elite Euroleague teams.
This will be the first time since 2007 that Athens will host the Final Four, while Greece also hosted it in 1993 in Piraeus and in 2000 in Thessaloniki.
After being awarded the organization for 2026, Greece could again nominate Piraeus, as soon as the reconstruction of the “Peace and Friendship Stadium” (SEF), the home of Olympiacos, is completed.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi, which hosted the last Final Four, is already booked for 2027 and 2029.
