The President of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, has called local elections for the municipalities of Negotin and Mionica.

The elections will be held on November 30, 2025.

“I called the elections at the latest possible date they could be held, so that all interested participants have enough time for nomination and an effective campaign. I wish everyone success in the elections and may the best candidates win,” Brnabić said.

Voters last cast their ballots for councilors of the Negotin City Assembly and the Mionica Municipal Assembly on October 17, 2021, and the local assemblies were constituted a month later.

In Negotin, votes are cast for 45 mandates, and in the previous local elections, 37,313 registered voters had the right to vote.

In Mionica, 10,989 registered voters had the right to vote in the elections, and 39 councilors are elected to the local parliament.

According to the Law on Local Elections, councilors are elected for four years, and elections for councilors must be held no later than 30 days before the end of the term of office of the councilors whose mandate is expiring. From the day the elections are called until the day they are held, no less than 45 days and no more than 60 days may pass.

The decision on calling the elections determines the day the elections are held, as well as the day from which the deadlines for election activities begin to run.
