With the second special flight of Air Serbia from Dubai, 266 passengers were safely returned to Belgrade last night, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
On the second evacuation flight to Dubai since the beginning of the crisis, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was led by Assistant Minister Željko Jović, and the delegation departed for the United Arab Emirates early yesterday morning in order to ensure that the establishment of another air bridge from Belgrade to the Middle East proceeds according to plan, the statement said.
The evacuations of Serbian citizens who expressed the desire to return to Serbia from security-threatened areas began a few days ago, on the initiative of the President of the state Aleksandar Vučić and with the help of the national airline Air Serbia, Assistant Minister Jović said.
He added that at a time of “tectonic disturbances in international relations,” when new crises, challenges and risks are expected, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia remains open 24 hours a day at the disposal of all its citizens “at any point on the planet.”
He said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making great efforts to respond to all requests and appeals in the shortest possible time.
In the organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Air Serbia, a total of 329 people have so far been safely evacuated from Sharm El Sheikh and Dubai.
