Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen welcomed the decision of the United States to modify the planned visit to Greenland.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated that the planned visit of Usha Vance, wife of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, and her attendance at a popular sled race in Greenland represented “unacceptable pressure” on Greenland, Reuters reported.

The White House announced yesterday that instead of Usha Vance, the delegation would be led by her husband, but that the visit would be limited to the U.S. space base “Pituffik” in northern Greenland and that the delegation would not attend the race.
“I think it is very positive that the Americans have canceled the visit to the Greenlandic social community. Instead, they will visit their base ‘Pituffik,’ and we have no objections to that,” the minister said.
