Alija Balijagić has been ordered to be detained for 30 days by the pre-trial judge of the Higher Court in Užice, at the request of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Užice.

Balijagić was arrested on Thursday morning near Priboj, in Serbia. He is suspected of the double murder of Jovan and Milenka Madžgalj near Bijelo Polje.

Balijagić has been sought since October 25th. As stated in the press release of the Higher Court in Užice, he was detained due to the risk of flight, and that he “could repeat the criminal offense in a short period of time and due to public unrest.”

“The suspect B.A. is charged with the criminal offense of unauthorized production, holding, carrying and trafficking of weapons,” the statement reads, as reported by Vijesti.
