Celebrated volleyball player Maja Ognjenović and former water polo player Danilo Ikodinović, once considered one of the most harmonious couples on the public scene, have decided to end their nine-year marriage.
According to reports, the famous sports couple recently made the decision to divorce.
“Sources state that disagreements between Danilo and Maja had become frequent over the past year. Although they managed to overcome them, this summer they finally decided to end their love story of more than a decade,” writes Telegraf.
It is reported that Maja Ognjenović and Danilo Ikodinović agreed to separate peacefully. The volleyball player traveled alone to Italy, where she is staying due to sporting obligations, while the former water polo player remained in Belgrade. Since this summer, the couple has not been living under the same roof.
Maja has removed most of their joint photos from her Instagram profile, leaving only one, which suggests that there were also beautiful moments in her marriage with Danilo.
Attempts to contact Danilo Ikodinović to verify these claims were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls.
Previous marriages and relationships
It should be recalled that before his marriage to Maja, Danilo was married twice. From his first marriage, he has a daughter, Andrea, while from his marriage to singer Nataša Bekvalac, he has a daughter, Hana.
On the other hand, Maja Ognjenović was in a long-term relationship with basketball player Miloš Teodosić before Danilo.
Danilo and Maja started their relationship thirteen years ago and got married on December 31, 2016, far from the public eye. Although their marriage long seemed harmonious, sources close to the couple claim that problems had been emerging for some time and that both tried to resolve them.
However, it seems they did not succeed, and divorce is now the final decision.
