Several officials from the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans, and Social Affairs are being arrested as part of an ongoing major anti-corruption operation.
According to unofficial information, police, under the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, are arresting inspectors who, through abuse of authority, allowed the “Ivanović” nursing home in Barajevo to operate and extend its license despite not meeting the required standards.
Last month, a fire broke out in this nursing home, resulting in the deaths of eight residents and injuries to 13 others, leading to the arrest of three owners who are currently under investigation by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade.
