Humanitarian worker Tamara Miširlić, known for her selfless work and emotional posts from the field, recently reported from Kosovo and Metohija—specifically from the village of Borčane, a mountainous corner far from daily life, but not from love and kindness.
On her Instagram profile, she shared heartwarming words after meeting Divna, an 89-year-old grandmother who, despite her modest circumstances, still believes in what the modern world often forgets: in one’s word, honor, and God. And not only does she believe, but as Tamara says, she lives by these values every day.
“I am in Kosmet. Among the mountains. Among people who, even when they have nothing, give. Grandma Divna from the village of Borčane is 89 years old. She lives far from everything, in the mountains,” Tamara wrote alongside a photo of Grandma Divna, whose heart, she said, was “as big as the mountain she lives on.”
After Tamara entered Grandma Divna’s house, Divna asked her whose she was, to which Tamara, with a smile, replied: “Yours.”
This short but clear answer delighted Divna, who immediately hugged her guest and then offered her compliments and advice:
“May you always be so beautiful, may you be good, may you marry well, may you have money. May you bear beautiful children and be good to your mother-in-law and father-in-law…,” Divna told her.
“Did your grandmothers also advise you like that? Do you miss those moments when one sincere sentence can replace your whole world? When you know you’re not alone, because you have someone who loves you just the way you are?” Tamara revealed, reminding us that it doesn’t take much to remember the warmth of home, respect, and unconditional love.
At the end of the day and their meeting, Grandma Divna thanked Tamara and her team for their visit and packed them a jar of honey as a sign of gratitude.
This moment sparked a wave of emotions on social media. And Tamara, whom Grandma Divna called “the beautiful Kosovo maiden,” finally added:
“It’s time to return to these people. To these values. Maybe it’s not too late. Because as long as there are grandmas like Divna – there is hope,” she concluded.
