American soldiers, members of KFOR, at a prayer liturgy in the Dragance Monastery in Kosovo and Metohija, expressed their wish to be baptized in this Serbian holy site and convert to Orthodox Christianity.

Bishop of Novo Brdo Ilarion received for a conversation in the Dragance Monastery three members of the American KFOR who had previously shown interest in becoming more closely acquainted with the Orthodox Church.

A month ago, the rite of catechumenate was performed for one of the associates of the American military mission in Kosovo, who is preparing for baptism in the Dragance Monastery, TV Hram reports.

It is important to note that there is noticeable interest in the Orthodox faith among members of the American KFOR who, during their service in the mission, came into direct contact with Serbian medieval holy sites in Kosovo and Metohija.

Bishop Ilarion, on the anniversary of the March pogrom of Kosovo Serbs on March 17, served a memorial service together with Metropolitan of Raška-Prizren Teodosije at the Gračanica Monastery, and then opened an exhibition of paintings at the Gračanica Cultural Center and conveyed to those present the blessing and prayerful greetings of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije.

On Wednesday, March 18, Bishop Ilarion served the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at the Visoki Dečani Monastery, together with priest Borislav Petrić from Mirijevo. From there, the bishop traveled to the Kosovo Pomoravlje region to the Dragance Monastery.
