The leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Milorad Dodik, stated today in Banja Luka that his main goal is an independent Republika Srpska.
“That goal has not disappeared, and I want to achieve it through a peaceful political process, using the international timing that is emerging,” Dodik said on RTRS’s Morning Program.
He added that he would be “dissatisfied if we miss the timing for our final decisions on this,” noting that he wants to “liberate RS from pressures.”
“When Republika Srpska declares independence, it will be recognized by 15 countries within a few days,” Dodik said.
He further stated that he “does not accept Bosniak domination over Bosnia and Herzegovina” and what he described as “the servility accepted by the opposition in RS.”
“We know what the efforts of Muslims in BiH are. We know they have done everything to dismantle Dayton’s BiH and bring it as close as possible to a unitary state,” emphasized the SNSD leader.
According to Dodik, no one in the world fully understands the issues regarding the Dayton Agreement anymore, and everyone knows that BiH is a “patched-together” country.
Dodik announced that next week he will be visiting Belgrade, Paris, and Washington, and also mentioned an upcoming visit to Moscow, which he emphasized is a strategic partner of Republika Srpska.
Addressing opposition criticism regarding his visit to the U.S. and attendance at a prayer breakfast, Dodik said it is “irrelevant to them, because they cannot go.”
“There are always more important things that are not seen, and here there are two things that will not be seen and will not be known, but they will happen,” he added.
