All six members of Serbia’s team won a medal each at the 42nd Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (BMO) for students up to 19 years old, which is being held this year from April 25 to 30 in Sarajevo, the BMO team of Serbia announced today.
The announcement specifies that the members of the Serbian team, consisting of students from the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade, won one silver and five bronze medals.
Stefan Šebez won the silver medal, and Vladimir Đurica, Petar Banović, Jegor Gramatčikov, Vanja Jelovac, and Vladimir Lukić won bronze medals.

A total of 143 competitors from 23 countries participated in the competition, of which 11 Balkan countries participated in the official competition, while 12 countries participated as guests.
The winner of this year’s competition is the team from Romania, whose students won four gold and two silver medals.
“We dedicate this success to all students in Serbia, their parents and teachers, as proof that knowledge, persistence and dedicated work bring top results on the international stage as well,” the announcement states.
