The German Bundeswehr will hold large-scale military exercises in September, with NATO soldiers participating to test the scenario of a supposed Russian attack, German media report. Up to 800,000 troops could take part in the exercises.

According to the media, from September 25, “Hamburg will become a military center for three days,” and “the Bundeswehr will launch large-scale exercises titled ‘Red Storm Bravo’… The scenario is a Russian attack on the West.”

The media emphasize that up to 800,000 soldiers could participate in the military drills. The exercises aim to rehearse the operational redeployment of NATO forces to the Baltic states and Poland, with Hamburg playing a key role due to its “strategically important port.”

“The plan includes troop movements through the city, providing emergency medical assistance, evacuation of the wounded, helicopter operations over Hamburg, and even a staged action that soldiers will have to respond to,” the media add.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius previously stated that Germany should prepare for a possible war with Russia by the year 2029.

Last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin explained in detail during an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson that Moscow has no intention of attacking NATO countries. The Russian leader noted that Western politicians regularly scare their populations with a fabricated Russian threat to divert attention from internal problems, but “smart people fully understand that this is a lie.”
