Republika Srpska is in an excellent position and knows what it is doing, stated RS President Milorad Dodik this evening. “We will reclaim, one by one, the competencies that belong to us,” Dodik told RTRS.
Milorad Dodik assessed that the Dayton Agreement was “immediately undermined” after its signing.
“We know what we are doing. The Constitution does not include the Court and Prosecutor’s Office. Therefore, they will not be applied. The same goes for SIPA and the HJPC. The Germans don’t like it, but neither do we. They say they will impose sanctions. Well, we will impose sanctions on them too. Funny? We’ll see if it’s funny. We will impose sanctions on their people as well. Traditionally, the Germans have been causing problems for us here,” Dodik stated.
He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina “is not worth fighting for.”
He emphasized that “for 30 years, they have been trying to dismantle Republika Srpska,” but they have not succeeded.
“BiH has offered us nothing but struggle and suffering. All this time, they have not given the Dayton Agreement a chance, but RS is returning to itself,” Dodik said.
He noted that “great powers have been pushing” to transfer even more competencies to the BiH level.
“In the end, we did well. The Serbian side has constantly been delegitimized,” the RS president assessed, adding that BiH “does not interest him.” He reiterated that RS “is returning to itself.”
Speaking about the Constitution of Republika Srpska, he stated that it is of paramount importance and that it has not been lost.
“That is what makes the Muslims in Sarajevo nervous,” he stated, adding that the Court, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, and other institutions at the BiH level are not constitutional entities.

As the first example of “unconstitutionality,” he cited the case of a judge who, as he claimed, “unilaterally extended his Constitutional Court mandate by two years, despite the retirement age being 70.”
“Three judges were appointed, but not in accordance with the Constitution. You have judges, but there are no Serbs,” Dodik argued.
He stressed the importance of introducing a law ensuring that BiH cannot implement anything without the approval of the National Assembly of RS, referring to the draft of the new RS Constitution.
“We have cleansed the text of amendments imposed by foreigners. It is a document of freedom,” Dodik said, adding that he wants to reach agreements on certain constitutional matters with Bosniak and Croat representatives.
He stated that the draft of the new constitution aligns with the Dayton Agreement, because, as he pointed out, BiH consists of two entities.
“Those in Sarajevo interpret it one way, while we act according to what is written in the Dayton Agreement,” Dodik said. He stated that he knows “the will of the people.”
“Our people have been electing me for 20 years. I interpret the will of the Serbian people as freedom and an independent Republika Srpska within the framework of the Dayton Agreement. If that cannot be achieved within Dayton, then RS should be a free state,” Dodik declared, adding that the possible adoption of the new constitution “will follow a political process and a referendum.”
