They will play well-known items of the Balkan musical heritage, traditional folk songs in their special arrangements, but also modern compositions that every music lover will recognize easily.
Vlatko Stefanovski started playing the guitar at the age of 13 in his native Macedonia. In his late teens, he founded the group “Leb & Sol”, which became one of the most important in the former Yugoslavia. “Leb & Sol” released 14 albums and toured all over the world. Since the mid-1990s, Stefanovski has been developing a successful solo career. In the last few years, he played and recorded all over the world with many top artists such as Tommy Emanuel, Manu Kache, Stokelo Rosenberg, Gibboni, Jan Akerman, Stefan Milenkovic, Kudsi Erguner, Bojan Zulfikarpašić, and Tony Levin. His recent work also includes music for films, theater, and ballet.

Theodosii Spassov started playing the kaval in his native Bulgaria. The kaval, an eight-hole wooden “shepherd’s flute,” is one of the oldest instruments in Europe, and Spassov developed his unique style by synthesizing folk music with jazz and classical music. Newsweek recognized him as one of the most talented musicians in its article “Best of the East” in 1995. For more than 20 years, Theodossi toured all over the world.
His unique way of playing impressed the audience, but also the musicians who collaborate with him, such as Ennio Morricone, Dave Liebman, Andy Shepherd, Yildiz Ibrahimova, Jamie Haddad, Albert Mangelsdorf, Mark Johnson, Ivo Papazov, Kazumi Watanabe… Between 1998 and 2012, he was a member of the world-famous Irish music and dance production “Riverdance”. Last year, the President of Bulgaria awarded Spassov with the country’s highest cultural award; the Medal of Saints Cyril and Methodius.

The individual value of these two artists is undeniable, and it is not hard to imagine what they are capable of creating when they are together on stage.
Vlatko Stefanovski and Theodosii Spassov are opening the American-Canadian tour with concerts in Chicago and New York on October 22 and 23, 2022, and tickets are already on sale.
