Crvena Zvezda basketball players recorded their first victory in the new Euroleague season after an incredible comeback against Paris on their home court, winning 79:77, thanks to the brilliant Nemanja Nedović who had a perfect game with 21 points without a miss!

What a match we witnessed in Paris, unbelievable. Zvezda started excellently, created a series and led, but then a real collapse and system breakdown occurred in the second quarter after which everything went down the drain.

To make matters worse for Crvena Zvezda, this continued throughout the third quarter when Paris went on a double-digit lead, when Zvezda finally decided to turn on the engines and shift into a higher gear.

Nemanja Nedović returned to the game, followed by Cody Miller-McIntyre, while Jago Mateus remained on the bench, which turned out to be a great move. Kodi calmed his head, focused, and had help from Nikola Kalinić and Joel Bolomboy, although he had a problem with fouls.

However, Nedović’s points were what made the difference in critical moments, especially since he hit five three-pointers out of six attempts. Of course, it should also be noted that Zvezda was helped by the individual quality it has in its ranks and that it will urgently need to consolidate for more serious parts.

At the end of the day – victory is written, and the Euroleague has just begun…

PRATITE NAS I NA FEJSBUKU:

Zvezda started this match very well, visibly more motivated in the opening minutes of the match. Nikola Kalinić hit a three-pointer, then Isaiah Canaan scored and connected with five points, while Joel Bolomboy had a brutal block.

Zvezda continued the match excellently, and about three minutes before the end of the first quarter, it was 12:6 for the red-whites, when Janis Sferopoulos made substitutions that slightly disrupted the team.

Then Paris created a series through Maodo Lo who scored seven points, and Shorts was also great and brought the lead with a series of 12:5.

It was expected that Zvezda would start the second quarter a little better, that they would snap out of it, which happened with the entry of Nemanja Nedović, who took the “keys” of his team into his own hands and started to play.

First, he hit a three-pointer, then made a drive to hit another three-pointer and give his team the lead. It was 30:29 when the collapse happened again. First, Cody Miller-McIntyre missed, followed by an unsportsmanlike foul by Plavšić, after which Malcolm got three points, but also the ball from the side. Then Kracer also hit one free throw and the lead only grew.

Somehow, Zvezda’s team managed to make another push, but it was short-lived. In the continuation, Paris managed to get the biggest lead of eight points at halftime through Lo and Shorts.

Right at the beginning of the second half, Zvezda had a very bad start, continuing lethargically everything that had bothered them in the first half. Daum and then Bolomboy missed, while the center made his third foul, making him nervous.

Then Paris went to a maximum of +13 through Nadir Hifi somewhere in the middle of the third quarter, when it seemed like this match would go in a direction that the red-white fans didn’t like. However, then Zvezda’s series follows.

An unsportsmanlike foul on Nikola Kalinić, he managed to realize one free throw, and then Luka Mitrović got points, then Kodi, and Zvezda returned. By the end of the quarter, Nemanja Nedović was great, Zvezda managed to return completely to the match with a series of 11:0.

He hit it too, then Bolomboy, and Nedović with a three-pointer and Mitrović with a new layup brought the tie.

Now, in the last quarter, Zvezda was the team that started much better. Kodi opened brilliantly, and then Rokas hit two free throws. Then it seemed that Paris would snap back, Jantunen hit a three-pointer, but Nemanja Nedović immediately returned on the other side.

A nervous game followed, as Nedović hit another three-pointer immediately after Nadir Hifi.

It was 70:70, and then in the last second, Nikola Kalinić hits a three-pointer, thus breaking this match.

After Kalinić, there were points from Mitrović and Kodi Miller, and Zvezda went to a big +5. A penalty shootout followed, and there Crvena Zvezda was more certain, thus recording its first victory in the new Euroleague season.
