Air Serbia flight JU134, which was at the center of worldwide attention last night, has finally landed at its intended destination.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAir Serbia flight JU134 (briefly the most tracked flight in the world) landed safely in Moscow this morning, with a new crew (due to regulations on working hours) but, as it turned out, the same rather interesting passengers, after a seven-hour delay,\u201d Tango Six editor Petar Vojinovi\u0107 wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Serbia flight JU134 (briefly the most tracked flight in the world) landed safely in Moscow this morning, with a new crew (due to regulations on working hours) but, as it turned out, the same rather interesting passengers, after a seven-hour delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Serbian Times has already reported, this flight turned into a full-blown scandal and midair drama when the aircraft, after reaching the far south of Lithuania, suddenly turned around and headed back to Belgrade. The order to return was issued by the head of corporate security at Nikola Tesla Airport after it emerged that security procedures had not been followed \u2014 specifically, that Aleksandar Vulin had been escorted onto the plane without undergoing the standard checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As many as three pro-government officials had set off on the unusual journey to Moscow: Socialist Movement leader Aleksandar Vulin, Srbijagas director Du\u0161an Bajatovi\u0107, and Serbian People’s Party president Nenad Popovi\u0107. Their departure was also accompanied by a post from Democratic Party president Sr\u0111an Milivojevi\u0107, who asked on X: \u201cAnd who is fleeing to Moscow tonight on the 6:30 p.m. flight?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After landing back in Belgrade, Vulin appeared live on TV Informer and said that he had \u201cslept through the whole thing,\u201d explaining: \u201cNobody told us anything. We just woke up, I had fallen asleep… I wake up and they tell me: \u2018You’re in Belgrade.\u2019 I see the police and special forces and ask: \u2018Have you come for me?\u2019\u201d Vulin accused the airport’s head of security of carrying out a political vendetta in order to \u201cprove himself to the new authorities\u201d and claimed that he was travelling to Moscow for gas negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, his fellow passenger Du\u0161an Bajatovi\u0107 immediately contradicted him in a statement to N1, saying that he was the only authorized gas negotiator, while he had no idea why Vulin and Popovi\u0107 had even boarded the flight: \u201cI don’t see Mr. Popovi\u0107 at the moment either, to be honest. We didn’t get off together,\u201d Bajatovi\u0107 pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a thorough inspection of the luggage, renewed security checks of all passengers and a crew change, the plane eventually took off seven hours late and landed safely in Moscow this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
