Twenty-one-year-old Marko To\u0161i\u0107 from Lunovo Selo near<\/em><\/strong> U\u017eice<\/a><\/em><\/strong> tragically died from injuries sustained in a serious traffic accident that occurred on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at around 11:25 p.m. on U\u017ei\u010dke Republike Street, on the section above \u201cKo\u0161ti\u010dka Krivina\u201d toward Terazije.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The accident occurred when Nikola Luki\u0107 (38) from U\u017eice, driving a luxury \u201cBMW X6\u201d SUV under the influence of alcohol, crossed into the opposite lane and directly collided with the \u201cYamaha\u201d motorcycle ridden by the young To\u0161i\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The young motorcyclist was rushed to U\u017eice General Hospital with serious bodily injuries to receive medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite the doctors\u2019 efforts and attempts to resuscitate him, the young man soon succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immediately after the crash, police subjected the car driver to a breathalyzer test, which showed that he had at least 1.09 mg\/ml (per mille) of alcohol in his system, while subsequent blood tests showed a significantly higher level \u2013 as much as 1.7 per mille, indicating severe intoxication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the request of the Higher Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office in U\u017eice, suspect Nikola Luki\u0107 was placed in custody and proceedings were initiated on suspicion that he committed a serious offense against public traffic safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

U\u017eice and Lunovo Selo were left in shock and mourning following the tragic death of Marko, while local residents and his family are calling for the harshest punishment for driving under the influence of alcohol, which claimed yet another young life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
