Representatives of the<\/em><\/strong> \u201cEuropean Serbia\u201d<\/a><\/em><\/strong> coalition submitted signatures of support for their electoral list to the Republic Electoral Commission after several officials from the parties making up the coalition withdrew their names from the list in recent days.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coalition leaders said that more than 10,000 signatures had been collected, while the boxes containing the signatures were brought to the RIK, together with activists, by Marinika Tepi\u0107, Dragan \u0110ilas, Zdravko Pono\u0161 and Goran Je\u0161i\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The submission of the signatures followed disagreements within the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) and the Serbia Centre party (SRCE) over whether to participate in the elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Borko Stefanovi\u0107, Jelena Milo\u0161evi\u0107, Vladimir Vrsajkov and Goran Petrovi\u0107 from the SSP withdrew their names from the \u201cEuropean Serbia\u201d list and backed the Student List. Before them, Pe\u0111a Mitrovi\u0107 and Mila Popovi\u0107 had also withdrawn from the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disagreements also arose within SRCE. Slobodan Petrovi\u0107 and Bo\u0161ko \u0160indi\u0107 withdrew their names from the electoral list and announced that they would leave the party. Petrovi\u0107 publicly stated that he would support the Student List<\/a> in the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the withdrawals, the \u201cEuropean Serbia\u201d coalition continued with the electoral process and submitted its signatures to the Republic Electoral Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coalition consists of the Freedom and Justice Party, Serbia Centre and the Solidarity Movement, and when it was formed, its representatives listed European integration, the rule of law, media freedom, an independent judiciary and the fight against corruption among its key programmatic priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
