The French city of Boulogne-sur-Mer hosted the World Senior Assaut Savate Championships from September 9 to 12.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 250 competitors from 42 countries took part in the championships. After three days of competition, our national team won one gold, two silver and one bronze medal, finishing a highly impressive second in the overall standings, behind the hosts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nikola Vuk\u010devi\u0107 won the gold medal and the title of World Champion in the +85 kg category after five bouts and five victories. Nikola proved that he belongs at the very top of world savate, becoming a senior world champion for the second time. The silver medals and titles of World Championship runners-up went to Lidia Abazovski in the -48 kg category, after four bouts (three wins and one narrow loss in the final), and Jelena Sedoglavi\u0107 in the -75 kg category, after four bouts (three wins and one loss in the final). Arijana Ota\u0161evi\u0107 won the bronze medal in the -60 kg category after four bouts (two wins and two losses).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our team also featured Na\u0111a Begojev (-52 kg), Anja Luki\u0107 (-56 kg), Mihajlo Dodi\u0107 (-70 kg), Jovan Stevanovi\u0107 (-75 kg), Radoje Stevanovi\u0107 (-80 kg) and Luka Babi\u0107 (-85 kg), who were unable to fight their way to medals this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the competitors, our team was represented by head coach Miroslav Od\u017ei\u0107, coach Dejan Gavrilovi\u0107, federation president Sr\u0111an Nadrljanski, and referees Maja Od\u017ei\u0107 and Velimir Karanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
