I also checked Google Maps and, indeed, it is a house that may have some 60 square meters of usable space at most, let\u2019s say even 100, but that is still an enormous number of voters in one place,\u201d Danijel Da\u0161i\u0107, an activist and member of the Inquiry Commission into the Novi Sad canopy collapse, told IZLAZ.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He says that the practice of registering a large number of voters at a single address is consistent with previous elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cObviously, there is a tendency to register people\u2026 since now it seems they can no longer register them at transformer stations, gas stations and things like that, because that is too obvious, just as with those house numbers marked 000. The OSCE and ODIHR should investigate the administrative and legal responsibility related to this registration, with particular focus on the officials who approved residence registration for 253 people in a private 60-square-meter house without verifying their physical residence, and whether local police officers in Priboj failed to carry out the necessary field checks before issuing residence approvals,\u201d Da\u0161i\u0107 stated in his message to the international organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He requested that they call on the state authorities to conduct an urgent, transparent field inspection of this case in Priboj, as well as advise the <a href=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/tag\/vlada\/\">Government<\/a> of Serbia and the <a href=\"https:\/\/serbiantimes.info\/tag\/mup\/\">Ministry of Internal Affairs<\/a> to initiate disciplinary and criminal proceedings against officials who approved the false residence status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Phantom voters in Serbia represent a controversial phenomenon involving the fictitious registration of citizens at addresses where they do not actually live, with the aim of influencing election results.
