President of the People’s Movement of Serbia (NPS) Miroslav Aleksi\u0107 accused the government today of “destroying the Serbian farmer” for years, which is why many have stopped engaging in agriculture.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a written statement, he noted that he visited a farmer from the village of Milutovac in the municipality of Trstenik, who after thirty years was forced to cut down his plum orchard of over 1,000 trees, because he can no longer even cover the costs of production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, fruit growers were offered to sell plums at a price of 10 to 15 dinars per kilogram, while production costs over 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This is the true image and picture of Serbia, not the one in the tent when they go to sing, eat, and tell citizens that one day it will be better, even though they have been governing Serbia for fifteen years. When will it be better? People have been waiting for fifteen years, and we have reached the point of cutting down plum trees,” Aleksi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
