Students participating in the blockade at the University of Novi Sad have been collecting aid since this morning in front of the Rectorate building for firefighters, soldiers, and volunteers battling the wildfire in the Deliblato Sands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u010ceda Aleksi\u0107, a student at the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad, said that citizens are donating 0.3- and 0.5-liter bottles of water because they are easier for people working on the front lines of the fire to carry and use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to water, organizers are asking for non-perishable food, individually packaged energy biscuits, and sweets such as Plazma biscuits and Bon\u017eita bars, which can be quickly consumed in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aleksi\u0107 also appealed for donations of flashlights, gauze, and saline solution. He noted that firefighters and the military are well supplied, but that civilian volunteers assisting in extinguishing the blaze often lack essential equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
