A 53-year-old Serbian citizen with no registered residence in Germany was arrested on Friday morning in the German town of Gifhorn after being found asleep behind the wheel of a car that police suspect he had attempted to steal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a police statement, at around 6:30 a.m., a private security employee at a company on Nordhoffstra\u00dfe reported that the window of a Mazda had been smashed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The investigation determined that he had previously attempted to start the car using an improvised, homemade key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
