Due to, as they stated, significant public interest, as well as a series of inaccurate reports that have appeared on social media and in certain media outlets in recent weeks, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade has released key parts of the findings and opinion of the Commission of Expert Physicians from the combined forensic medical and ballistic examination conducted by the “Milovan Milovanovi\u0107” Institute of Forensic Medicine in the case concerning the aggravated murder committed on May 12, 2026, against Aleksandar Ne\u0161ovi\u0107, known as Baja, at Restaurant “27,” as well as related criminal offenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the statement, the combined forensic examination was ordered in order to determine the causal link between the actions taken by the suspects and the fatal outcome suffered by Aleksandar Ne\u0161ovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The conclusion and opinion of the Commission of Experts, consisting of specialists in forensic medicine, forensic pathology, and a ballistic-trace expert, is that A.N.’s death was violent and occurred as a result of massive blood loss caused by destruction of blood vessels, thoracic and abdominal organs, and soft tissues along the paths of numerous gunshot wounds (through-and-through and penetrating) to the neck, torso, and upper extremities inflicted by projectiles fired from a handgun,” the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the findings, Ne\u0161ovi\u0107 sustained 14 gunshot wounds (six penetrating wounds and eight through-and-through wounds) and one graze wound. All of the injuries found on A.N.’s body constituted, in their combined effect at the time they were inflicted, a single severe bodily injury that was life-threatening, that is, fatal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“All of the aforementioned gunshot wounds were certainly inflicted within a relatively short period of time, one after another, and therefore it is not possible to determine with certainty the exact sequence in which they occurred,” the statement added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The injuries could have been inflicted while the victim and the perpetrator were facing each other\u2014face to face\u2014most likely while seated or in a similar position. After sustaining the initial wounds to the front of his torso, the victim bent forward, collapsed, or fell forward and possibly to the right, exposing the area of his left shoulder to the muzzle of the firearm, while the shooter did not significantly change position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The high concentration of gunshot wounds in the area of the left shoulder directly indicates that the shots in question were fired into the victim’s body while he was already lying motionless, physically incapacitated due to the injuries previously sustained,” the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If there had been a difference in height between them (with the perpetrator standing, sitting, or rising), this possibility would be even more certain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The fact that seven of the recovered projectiles were conclusively determined to have been fired from the same firearm directly indicates that almost certainly only one weapon was used in the incident,” the statement noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this stage, there is no physical evidence indicating that any additional firearm was used during the incident, according to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“None of the gunshot wounds on the victim’s body display characteristics of contact or point-blank gunshot wounds. The grouping of the impacts on the victim’s body, as well as the dimensions of the crime scene itself, clearly indicate that the shooting distance in this case was relatively short, no greater than a few meters,” the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on the characteristics of the gunshot wounds, it can be concluded that they were inflicted by no more than 14 and no fewer than 10 projectiles fired from a handgun, the statement issued by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
