He declared himself ethnically Serbian, but was also a longtime member of the HDZ and a volunteer veteran of the Croatian War of Independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He entered the Zadar City Council as a representative of the Serbian national minority on the HDZ list.
