Their Royal Highnesses, Crown Prince Filip and Princess Danica Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107, met last night in Chicago with leaders of the Serbian community, activists who run Serbian associations, folklore groups, cultural ensembles, and humanitarian organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The working meeting, held in the VIP Room of Ambar Restaurant in downtown Chicago, also had a ceremonial character due to the presence of the royal couple. It began with the presentation of the Serbian Camp project, which, starting next year, is expected to bring together children and young people from the Serbian diaspora and the homeland, as well as from neighboring countries where Serbs live, with the goal of preserving the Serbian language and cultural and spiritual identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening remarks were delivered by the camp\u2019s organizers \u2013 Prince Filip, Princess Danica, and Serbian Times Editor-in-Chief Antonije Kova\u010devi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation was followed by consultations, an exchange of ideas, and discussions about future cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activists from the Serbian diaspora, many of whom have extensive experience organizing and managing similar youth camps in the United States, offered a wealth of valuable suggestions that will help shape the first Serbian Camp, scheduled to take place in the summer of 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants also discussed future cooperation, and representatives of the Serbian diaspora pledged to assist in selecting and sending children who will become the first participants of the Serbian Camp next summer in Vrnja\u010dka Banja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
