The 30th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO) was held in Buz\u0103u, Romania, where members of the Serbian team won three silver medals, two bronze medals, and one honorable mention, the Serbian Mathematical Society announced this evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The JBMO took place from June 15 to June 20 and brought together 133 competitors from 23 countries \u2014 11 Balkan nations and 12 guest countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The selection of the Serbian team members, as well as their preparations for the competition, was organized by the Serbian Mathematical Society with the support of the Ministry of Education, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this prestigious mathematics competition, Serbian contestants achieved outstanding results, winning three silver medals, two bronze medals, and one honorable mention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The silver medals were awarded to Gleb Sapozhnikov<\/strong>, a student at the “Jovan Jovanovi\u0107 Zmaj” High School in Novi Sad, and Ramazan Shakirov<\/strong> and Kosta Hil<\/strong>, both students of the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bronze medals were won by Jovan Petronijevi\u0107<\/strong>, a student at the “Svetozar Markovi\u0107” High School in Ni\u0161, and Bogdan Milovanovi\u0107<\/strong>, a student of the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An honorable mention was awarded to Vasilije Nedeljkovi\u0107<\/strong>, also a student of the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The team leader was Dr. Milo\u0161 \u0110ori\u0107<\/strong>, while Dr. Sr\u0111an Stefanovi\u0107<\/strong> served as deputy leader.
