Lawyers representing the arrested Serbs have confirmed that the Court in Pristina has ordered one-month detention for five men taken into custody on suspicion that, as members of the Serbian police, they allegedly participated in the operation in Ra\u010dak on January 15, 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iljir Morina, a prosecutor with the Special Prosecutor\u2019s Office in Pristina, confirmed yesterday that the police, in cooperation with the prosecution, had arrested five individuals and requested detention following their questioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects were previously questioned by a pre-trial judge of the Basic Court in Pristina, who accepted the prosecution\u2019s request and ordered their detention for a period of 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The arrest of the five Serbs was condemned by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the Serbian List, which described the move as a politically motivated proceeding and a continuation of pressure on the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
