The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team began its World Cup campaign, with the Dragons facing hosts Canada in their opening match. Bosnia and Herzegovina took a 1-0 lead as early as the 20th minute, with the goal scored by Jovo Luki\u0107, who was born in \u0160abac and whose father is something of a local legend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jovo Luki\u0107 was born in \u0160abac in 1998, after his father, the renowned Mitar Luki\u0107, had ended his playing career, having previously represented Ma\u010dva \u0160abac. Mitar Luki\u0107 is also considered a local legend, as he played not only for Ma\u010dva but also for Jedinstvo Vladimirovci.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luki\u0107 began his career at Modri\u010da, where his father was the coach, before moving on to Sloga Doboj, then Krupa, Zvijezda Grada\u010dac, and later Borac Banja Luka. He spent four years with Borac before transferring to Universitatea Craiova and then Universitatea Cluj, where he enjoyed a dream season, recording 18 goals in 30 appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
