The Court of BiH today sentenced in the first instance former members of the Army of Republika Srpska Zdravko Pani\u0107, Trivo Vuki\u0107, and Slobodan Kne\u017eevi\u0107 to a total of 40 years in prison for a crime against humanity committed in the area of Prijedor and Ljubija.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milodrag Glu\u0161ac, Ranko Babi\u0107, Ranko Do\u0161enovi\u0107, Milan Vuki\u0107, and Milorad Obradovi\u0107 were acquitted of the charges, as the judicial council, based on the evidence, did not find that they ordered, nor that they participated in the detention, torture, and murder of civilians, as well as that they were in a position to prevent this crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trivo Vuki\u0107 and Pani\u0107 were sentenced to 15 years in prison each for, as stated, participating in the murder of 11 civilians of Bosniak nationality at the Kite locality in the period from July 27 to July 30, 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kne\u017eevi\u0107 was sentenced to ten years for the murder of one civilian of Bosniak nationality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The convicted individuals did not attend the sentencing, and the Court ordered them into custody. The time spent in custody will be counted towards the length of their prison sentences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judicial council did not find that there were elements of a joint criminal enterprise in this case, reports Glas Srpske from Banja Luka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The convicted individuals have the right to appeal the first-instance verdict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
